Flight Control/Helm

The Flight Control Department incorporates Navigation and Helm. Its duties include plotting courses, supervising automatic piloting, correcting any deviations in flight and piloting the ship manually when necessary.

Flight Control is also responsible for the shuttles, runabouts, and/or other smaller vessels on board the ship. This includes pre and post-flight checks, preparing reports on any required maintenance, and piloting during away missions and when otherwise required.

The Chief Helmsman is the head of the Flight Control Department and the primary flight controller.
