Koril has deep penetrating black eyes that seem to mesmerize others (though with Koril's telepathy that just might be true). He walks with a shuffle and is kind of jumpy around aggressive people evident by his uncanny ability to get out of someones way. Although Koril is not very adept at hand-to-hand combat, his ability to predict his opponents movements make it very hard to land anything on him.
Personality
Koril is a lean and well built. Not having ever spoken words before leaving Betazed except when practicing Federation Standard by himself, his speech is slow and foreign sounding. This gives the illusion that Koril is not intelligent (which is quite the opposite really). He is a bit naive and is easily astounded by other cultures (fake or otherwise). This leads others to underestimate him, and those trying to swindle or otherwise prey on this naivety soon find out that it is not easy to trick a Savant Telepath.
Koril walks with a shuffle and has a very unnerving penetrating stare. He meets your gaze when you talk to him directly and he always looks as though he's listening to something even when others have finished talking (which is more than likely their own thoughts). Being a native Betazoid he can be honest to a fault. Though he never talks of his personal life or feelings, he never answers with a lie. Ask Koril a question and he will answer.

History
Koril was born in a small community about 30Km North of Lake Cataria on Betazed. His parents both owned and operated a small bakery which provided the locals with breads, and pastries. When Koril was very young his father was convicted of murder and sent to a penal colony. He has never seen or met his father since, and it is a source of great embarrasment for him. His mother died during the Battle of Betazed during the Dominion War of 2374. He was on a school trip when the first attacks came through and his group were among the first Betazoids to seek shelter in the hidden bunkers.
After the war and peace was established on Betazed, Koril, among hundreds of others were taken under the wing of Betazed Child Services where he remained a Ward of the State until the age of 21. Koril was considered at the time by Betazed authorities as 'Special Needs' and as a result Koril was enrolled in a school designed for children with Koril's disorder. Koril is one of only a small amount of Betazoids that developed Telepathy as an infant causing emotional and psychological problems for Koril. The school he was enrolled in helped address these issues.
At 17 and with puberty practically complete, Koril had developed control over his abilities. He no longer suffered the ill effects that some of his more unfortunate colleagues suffered from. At the age of 19 and against the recommendation from the State, Koril took the entrance exams for Starfleet and enlisted as crewman. He left Betazed and attended the enlisted academy where he gained an affinity for computer science. He graduated in 2381 at the rank of Crewman Apprentice in Computer Science. Koril is a highly trained Computer Systems Specialist. Although he works closely with the Engineering department, and indeed his team works mainly in a cramped section of Main Engineering or sometimes on the Bridge, Koril is a scientist first. His specialty is in science related systems, programs, protocols and sensors. Although he is qualified to work with all aspects of computer systems on a starship, his skills are better utilized in the science department.
