Luton Powell
Doctor Luton Powell
Doctor Luton Powell was a galaxy-renowned scientist, typically arrogant, egotistical and a very bad man. That is until he found out he was dying of an incurable disease (he was still however typically arrogant, egotistical and a very bad man). He used his genius to upload his mind into a computer and recreated himself as a hologram. It was in this form that he visited Archimedes during the Salvation mission along with his own holographic henchmen and Sytar Jackson, who was appointed his assistant by Starfleet Intel.
He used his time aboard to perfect his machine, it was entirely holographic made. Luton had created it to download himself back into a healthy (and influential) organic body. He chose then Captain Nathan Geiger for himself and then Lieutenant JG Serenity Phillips for Sally O'Malley as she had caught his lustful eye.
Of course he was thwarted. His assistant turned against him (as he'd suspected she would) and joined forces with the crew of the Archimedes. Luton was eventually contained and his program was deleted. The other holograms who were working for him were granted asylum with restrictions.
As it turns out this was not the last Archimedes would see of the Doctor. He reappeared during the Flight of the Valkyries mission. the Doctor had a backup copy of himself on Starbase 50 which was reactivated and he slowly started to rebuild his machine in a holo-suite. By now desperate he lured Rear Admiral Eliza Speight into his trap and downloaded himself into her body. Able to walk around freely he masqueraded as the Admiral and set about building an holographic army whom he downloaded into other captured organic bodies.
Wanting to seek revenge on his former assistant and the crew of the Archimedes (and also needed a much more masculine body), Luton enlisted the help of Jakob Turner and an associate.
Luton still taken with Archimedes' holographic bartender decided to offer her the body of Commander Kendra Smith. He (still in the body of the Admiral) was quickly dispatched by a bottle of vodka to the head. It is believed that this knock to the noggin may have severed his connection to the body. But, we'll never truly know if he is gone...
