Posting
To post for your character at LEAST once a fortnight (2 weeks). This is the minimum but we are thrilled if you can write more often.
No matter how good of an idea it seems at the time - DO NOT POST WHILST DRINKING AND / OR DRUNK. You'll regret it in the morning :P
Posting Guidelines
We ask that you write in narrative third person form. Past or present tense is acceptable.
Please keep it realistic. No superhero antics unless otherwise instructed by the Commanding Officer.
As a guide you should be aiming for at least 300 word posts (more is great), but if you are an inexperienced simmer then a minimum of 100 words is acceptable (again more is great) for your first two months on board.
Please post in the appropriate section of the forum. All In Character (IC) posts should be made in Mission Posts in the current mission thread. For Out Of Character (OOC) posts please also post them in the proper sections, for example: LOAs, introduction of players, awards, etc go in Personnel Office; Anything and everything else can go in O'Malley's Lounge.
Sim Rating: R18
All players must be at least 18 years of age or older in order to participate in this sim. This rating means that posts may contain violence, offensive language, non-explicit sexual references, nudity, drug use, horror related themes and antisocial behaviour. However this does not give you permission to constantly write overly descriptive violent or sexual scenes. Please think of others before you send your post and use common sense. If in doubt please contact the Commanding Officer.
Sometimes though it's best to just err on the side of caution.
Writing Other Characters (PC)
We ask that you write your own character but if you do use another character do not maim, kill or do something that would alter them in some way. Seek the writer of that character's permission first if you have something more in depth in mind. Or contact that writer to do a joint post (JP). We encourage anyone to participate in JPs with others wherever possible. This can be done through Real Time chat, via email or through the Private Message (PM) on the forums.
The same guideline applies to Non Player Characters (NPCs) or Protected Non Player Characters (PNPCs) - especially the latter. Check with the owner of the (P)NPC first.
Missions
The Commanding Officer is the only person who is able to start and end a mission. The only other person capable of doing this is the Executive Officer if nominated to do so by the Commanding Officer, or if the Commanding Officer is on Leave of Absence.
Problems, Concerns and Complaints
Any problems, concerns or complaints should be directed to the command team. If you have a problem with another player then you should try to work it out with the player concerned. If that doesn't work then bring the matter to the attention of a member of the command team and we'll see what we can do.
Leave of Absence (LOA) or Resignation
If you are unable to write for a period of time, then you should inform the Commanding Officer and let them know when you expect to return.
If for whatever reason you need to resign from the sim then we will be very sad to see you go. You should contact the Commanding Officer and let them know so we don't wonder what has happened to you. It's also polite and means if you find you are able to come back at a later date we'll be happy to find a place for you.
