Starbase 50

Starbase 50 (SB50) is a Regula class Starbase, equipped as a science and resupply outpost. Located on the fringe of Federation space (map), looking out to a corridor of unclaimed space, along the borders of the Gorn and the Tholian Assembly. Currently under command of Brigadier General Allan Bresnick.

History

The starbase was originally a marine resupply outpost but due to heavy casualties suffered by the marines they cut back their facilities and handed Starbase 50 temporarily over to Starfleet.

Early 2376 Commodore Marcus Braddock was put in charge of Starbase 50. In 2378 he hopped into a shuttle and flew into uncharted space, never to be heard from again. He was replaced with Rear Admiral Eliza Speight who stepped down from her position at Temporal Investigations to take the role. In 2385 though she fell victim to a deluded holographic scientist who took possession of her body. It is not yet known if she will recover. Most of the crew were killed and the starbase itself suffered some damage.

After a court martial and demotion, Commander Nathan Geiger and the Archimedes crew were tasked with cleanup detail. Six months later it was decided that Starbase 50 should be returned to the marines as a resupply outpost with a small Starfleet operational presence.
